Alright, I watched Inception the other day and I wasn't too impressed. First of all, the cinema was crowded (I hate the city of Cologne!) and we got bad seats left hand front, so I couldn't really enjoy the sfx. Second, the plot was mainly a vehicle for all the effects, it was easy to follow, but it was highly illogical. I didn't really care about the characters, and what is more, I DO NOT DREAM LIKE THAT.
When the film was over, we talked about how movies and their perception have changed recently, and that everything has to be fast paced and full of strong visual input. It's like watch it and quickly forget about it.

You really hit the nail on the head, as far as I'm concerned. Very succinct. I think the illogical nature of the plot made people believe it was difficult to follow, when no, it just doesn't make sense. Once you leave, everything falls apart.
