I know you know I find them both unbearably pretty, but I hadn't really thought about this.

is this too much of a stretch? )

I've always kind of thought that Orson Welles was sort of like a less attractive version of Shatner. Definitely a resemblance!

*blink*

It's just weird that I'm so transparent despite not realizing it myself, especially considering they're not my type, dammit!

Also I find it difficult to believe that anyone was prettier than Welles as young Kane. ;)

Well, oddly enough, much as I love Orson Welles, he's never done it for me at all in the sexy stakes; but he definitely looks like Shatner. I have a minor obsession with identifying facial types and all the people who are facially similar, whether they're beautiful or screen-breakingly ugly, which may be why I noticed this. But yeah, basically, the first time I ever saw Shatner (which really was only this year. *GASP*) - I said, "Wow, he's like Orson Welles if Orson Welles was pretty." And the wife said, "Yeah, I guess he is."

So in summary: not just you!

It was actually parudy88 who pointed it out (along with Brando, who I did see) and I was all, "buh, what? They are like my two hottest hotties of hot!"

And then I was staring at the Changling picture (as you do) and said, "wait. His eyes!"

I've always liked, you know, Phantom of the Opera, Sherlock Holmes, Jeremy Brett/Irons types so these past few years are breaking my brain.

I don't know. Mifune is more than acceptable.

I doubt he had to cultivate them. Maybe in certain poses, but I don't know if it was deliberate.

And he never grew a huge beard. ;)

Very true. The beard was a good move.

That is rather eerie. In an appealing way, of course. ;) You and your love. It makes me smile.
