Classic Trek has something to tell you.

Lately, I've seen The Price of the Phoenix by Sondra Marshak and Myrna Culbreath recommended about. Recommended in the sense that it's UTTER CRACK in published form, which, to be fair, a lot of TOS is already.

What I hadn't seen was this cover. Which would have demanded my purchase even if I hadn't heard of it.

What the Jesus hell.

Also: They were handing out plastic Star Trek cups at the gay bar I went to last night. So much score.

If Kirk is Jesus, what does that make Spock?

Also, awesome. I clearly need to spend more time in gay bars. Geeky ones.

If you're reading the books, do you have the download link for a massive amount of Trek books, and if not, do you want it?

That cover is AWESOME!

I don't have it, but I might as well, thanks!

Though I suspect covers like this will keep me mostly in paper.

Haha I KNOW. It's amazing. I OWN THIS.

The sequel I bought doesn't have anything like this as a cover.

I have this book and its sequel and I read them while I was at the con! *blush* My dad saw that cover and was like "look at those guys!" He likes to tease me about K/S.

I swear, in these books they referred to Spock as "your Vulcan" (meaning Kirk's Vulcan) at least 10 times. I lost count. They were the slashiest published things I've ever read, and I've read New Voyages 2.

This cover is amazing. Seriously. What could they have been thinking?

And the book... Really, really slashy, but the writing largely makes no sense. It's incredible.

I was going to comment on your post, but thanks so much for your write-up. You really caused a stir!

Haha no problem! I'd just hope someone else would do the same for me had they gone to the con and I hadn't been able to.

And yes, the story is VERY hard to follow. I just skip the parts about the Romulan Commander and cloneKirk and just get to the K/S. Because, that's why I'm there. :D

That's an excellent procedure. I still need to read the sequel.

I think the book got really perilously close to Jim/Jim, too.
