Last night's HARP session was an utter disaster.  Two of the four players died facing off against a group of skeletal warrior/sentinel type monsters.  I'd planted the seeds of a way to defeat said guardians without actually fighting them, but the players didn't pick up on it.  What's more, the story (?) hasn't managed to proceed past "you're ( Read more... )

Um. Sorry dude.

My group (with one notable exception) prefer to have a story served to them, rather than really participating in an interactive fiction.

It is a hard habit to break.

Meh. I'll figure something out. I'm going to switch gears and try some gritty urban fantasy for a while.

Why don't you let someone else run it then? Or would that only frustrate you further?

The only thing anyone else ever offers to run is Call of Cthulhu and, while I enjoy a good horror story as much as anyone, I've definitely had my quota of Cthuliana for the next 10 or so years.
