Art: The Girl At the Rock Show (genderbendbigbang)
This post contains the sketches, as well as final artwork that I did for the genderbendbb fic written by maryangel200. This is my second art assignment after bandombigbang and I wanted to stay on the same medium (colored pencils on black paper), but I wanted to do something a little bit different with it. Mary was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process, informing me which scenes she preferred to be illustrated and answering some last-minute questions on Frank's hair, Gerard's clothes, etc etc. So without further ado...here it is.

Summary: HS AU. High school sucks, parents suck. Frankie is a 15 year old punk rock chick who pretty much hates her life. Her parents are always fighting, her mom is a bitch, she is not really popular.
Then, she meets Gerard, a senior who spends his days watching clouds and stars and playing D&D.

Cloud watching wasn't boring although she made it sound like it was every time she told Alicia about it. Actually, it was pretty nice to be up there with Gerard, be close to him, forget about the rest of the world and pretend they were the only two survivors of the zombie apocalypse, even if it was just for an hour, every week.
"I'm gonna draw that tentacle head thing so you can see how rad it really is," Gerard announced, sitting up quickly and reaching for his things, his notepad and the tiny pencil tucked inside the spiral above it.
Frankie didn't move for a while. She closed her eyes, the bright and harsh light of the sun turning to a violent crimson behind her eyelids. She listened to the familiar and ever so soothing sound of pencil against paper and the sound of Gerard's heavy breathing.
