Dree was sitting at one of the empty tables in the back, sipping at a cold beverage while she watched the crowds from behind tinted sunglasses. She had arrived early, not entirely looking forward to the meeting, but she had promised to go, for TJ's sake.

"You must be the boy's mother," she heard. Glancing up, Dree wasn't able to reply before Maleficent dropped gracefully into the seat opposite her. Dree said nothing as she watched the woman - dressed quite differently than she had been a few weeks before - examine the tabletop with a sneer, then give her a forced smile. "Other mother."

Dree leaned back in her chair for a moment, then reached up to remove her sunglasses. "Audree," she said simply, then nodded to the nametag on her companion's shoulder. "Amber."

Maleficent glanced down and rolled her eyes, then waved a hand. "Any time I am in the presence of-" she started, fighting a grimace as a child shrieked nearby. "I am required. Dear Cindy thought it would be humorous," she explained.

"Hysterical," Dree countered.

Maleficent waved a hand at her and asked: "Are you always this... green?" Dree's brow tightened and she glanced down. "You don't see it, do you?" Maleficent laughed. "My dear," she smiled, leaning forward as if she was about to share a secret, "you are practically glowing."

Dree's jaw locked and she glanced away. She didn't feel like the magic within her was brewing, but if it was, she had to make sure she kept it in check. Maleficent noticed the sudden change in the blonde's demeanor, which intrigued her. "Where are you from, Mother?" she asked, leaning back in the chair, as she was now enjoying this rather uncomfortable meeting. "It's not here. You're not one of-" she made a motion with her hand and smiled again, "-ours."

Dree reached for her drink and took a sip from the straw. "Oz," she replied, then placed the cup back on the table. "Well, not the Oz you might know," she clarified, noticing the reaction on Maleficent's face. "I believe you call the wizard Oscar?" Maleficent made a face, clearly unimpressed with the man, but also acknowledging him. "He's not ours," Dree assured her. "You met ours, the other night."

"Ah," Maleficent laughed. "That broom was in quite a lot of trouble, that evening." She smiled, remembering the odd glee that came from watching the lecture the broom received. "So, if your wizard rides the broom," she began, giving a sidelong glance to a group of teenagers on their phones, "how do your witches get around?"

She was intrigued by the power she had sensed during the Halloween party, as it was much stronger than any magic usually in the parks. It was obvious that most of it was coming from the man and woman she'd sparred with, but the magic within this woman was different. She wondered if the blonde even knew just what was brewing inside her.

"They don't," Dree responded sharply. Maleficent's brow tightened. "Look," Dree started, sitting up and leaning against the edge of the table, "I'm really not looking to make friends, right now. My only concern is my kids. And I want to know what you want with my son."

"I want nothing from him," Maleficent replied simply. It was the truth; she didn't want anything from the child. "He bested me in battle, therefore, I yield to him. I am incapable of hurting anyone, unless he orders me to."

"Why?" Dree asked. "Why TJ?" She shrugged. She needed to know just what this woman's game was.

"He wasn't afraid of me," Maleficent replied after a moment of silence. She gave Dree a smile and shrugged. "It was a reaction I have never experienced, and for one that small to show no fear... that is a power which cannot be denied."

"Well, he is a Sorcerer of the Kingdom," Dree replied. She wasn't sure what to think - TJ had no power; he and Max were just boys. Leora had the power, as did James. Charlie... well, they weren't sure what was going to happen with him.

"He is my Keeper," Maleficent corrected. "So long as he breathes, he controls me. And I swear to you," she continued, calmly and clearly, so that Dree would know just how serious she was, "no harm will come to him."

"Here," Dree added, giving her an unimpressed look - which was saying something, because her experience with reading people told her that this witch meant what she said - "because, where we live, you can't follow. So, don't you dare make a statement like that, about any of my kids, when you can't back it up."

Maleficent watched her and inclined her head. She was beginning to understand what El meant when the brunette warned her wife would be much harder to convince.
