That's me in the corner...that's me in the spotlight, losing my religion

My belief system needs some work, and that will take time. Many things of the Christian faith disturb me, and it's starting to turn me away. I am not saying I am ready to convert to something new at the moment, but I am curious about other beliefs & ways of life.

Those of you who study/practice anything other than Christianity (Judaism, Buddhism ( Read more... )

www.religioustolerance.com is the BEST website ever. They have every single kind of belief system (or lack thereof) in the world practically. I love it.

I think the first question that needs to be answer is. Why believe?
There is every bit as much proof the Christian God exists as any of the Pagan/Wiccan concepts, Islam's Allah, The God of the Jews, the Plethora of Hindi Gods. Which is to say there is none at all.

faith P Pronunciation Key (fth)
n.
1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. See Synonyms at belief. See Synonyms at trust.
3. Loyalty to a person or thing; allegiance: keeping faith with one's supporters.
4. often Faith Christianity. The theological virtue defined as secure belief in God and a trusting acceptance of God's will.
5. The body of dogma of a religion: the Muslim faith.
6. A set of principles or beliefs.

If I told you I drove an F1 McLaren(multi-million dollar super car), but never let you see it. Would you believe me??? Should you believe me?? I should think not ( ... )

I ma seriously thinking of taking the challenge because the more I think about Christianity (as a whole), the more confused and upset I get.

Many people have gotten upset with me because I don't push going to church on my sons. I figure, when they are old enough, they can decide what is right and what is wrong to them when it comes to religious issues. I think that is best in their overall development.

Hi- I'm a friend of Tim Makowski and I noticed your post. I am new age pagan mixed with some xtian since I was raised pentecostal till age 10. My practices with magick are more closely matched with catholocism but I'm not catholic. I consider myself pagan only because I read tarot and do astrology which is banned by some parts of the bible. I added you as a friend- you sound like an interesting person :-)

As for a website.... http://www.beliefnet.com has a quiz you can take to see what religion fits you best. Happy hunting, and feel free to add me back as a friend- I don't mind any friend of tim's is a friend of mine.
