When you say that all work needs to be beta-ed, how essential is this? I personally don't have a beta-reader, though I suppose I can find one if I really have to. I tend to look over and edit my own work, usually.

Hi, and thanks for your question!

We'd say it's important if only to maintain a certain quality of work in our community. But we do realise not everybody has a regular beta-reader they can turn to; for this reason we plan to set up a Beta Index over here (along the lines of what's been done for lilyjames_fest here) to help our members find a beta-reader if/when necessary.

If you still have trouble finding a beta-reader, please just email us (mwpp[dot]mischief[at]gmail[dot]com) and we'll see if we can't help you out. :)

So you're saying this includes the daily prompt fest in October? They've always seemed like a low-key challenge in other communities I've been in. While I appreciate the beta list being set up, I would feel hesitant to ask a stranger to an unknown number of stories, of an indeterminable length and without knowing pairings or genres ahead of time. It just seems like an imposition on them.

My spouse and I were hoping that we could write a fic together, we have a wonderful Remus/Regulus story in mind.

Is that ok?

Absolutely! You are more than welcome to collaborate. If you and your spouse both have livejournals, just provide us with both names and one email for contact purposes. If your spouse does not have livejournal, initials are fine. :)

Since this is an anonymous fest, you'll be emailing it to us at mwpp.mischief@gmail.com and we will be posting it for you. :) Please make sure to include your name, prompt number, and title in the subject line since it makes life easier on us. After we do reveals at the end of the fest, you're free to repost, but not before then. Hope that helps!
