Thank you! Yeah, everyone kind of got a raw deal here, I think. :(

Oh, this killed me on so many levels. I'll admit that I was a bit leery at first - it's not exactly my usual pairing - but I was absolutely delighted at how good it was.

You're an extremely skilled writer, Mystery Author. This has great flow and and managed to be very powerful without being cloying, bitter, or over-the-top. All your characters felt in character, canon but far more developed. This was especially true of James who was truly elegantly constructed. He felt so much and yet was so blind. Yet even his naiveté was somehow serious and endearing. (That probably didn't make as much sense to you as it did in my head. LOL)

I felt so sorry for everyone here - and that made it all the more difficult, for there was no one to blame and no one to hate. "If you really want me, you can have me." The boldness of his words made Remus' pulse flutter madly. "For however long it is." It didn't matter that he would get hurt in the end, that it hurt even now understanding that James was coming to him with a termination date practically pre- ( ... )

Thank you! I'm glad you gave the pairing a chance. I actually wanted this to be a relatively light piece, but they wouldn't cooperate. No one really got a perfect ending here at all. (But I like to think they carved some happiness out for a while anyway.)

Since today is Remus's birthday, I wanted to try this pairing and see what it was like. I quite liked it! It seemed a little dominant/submissive at times, but I still really enjoyed it. I felt so bad for Remus, more than anything! I also loved James's character and the interaction between the Marauders, especially Sirius. I thought you did really well with this prompt and sold the ship. The attention to little canon details was great. The end was very sad for them; the idea of Remus giving up James so he could be with Lily was very original and heartbreaking. Lovely story!

I'm so glad you gave this pairing a shot and that you were sold on it for this fic anyway. I felt bad for them all here, but they kept dragging me away from a happier resolution. Thank you!

Oh man. That was truly beautiful. I loved Remus's fear, his immense hatred for them looking out for him - but at the same time.. man, it was great.
This was hilarious ;)
"I already think you are. Remus--gigantic girl's blouse--Lupin."

This story had so many awesome bits, angst but funny, sad but sweet..
Honestly I write it off as one of the best R/J I've ever read. It made the most sense to me, your James was exactly as I imagine, with his need for helping people. And this bit:
"Oh." Remus shrugged lazily. "Just you, always looking out for your friends. Always knowing just what to do and say."
It was ever so lovely :)

The only, ONLY, thing I did not like about this was the ending. Because, and I know I could get shot for saying this... I really truly despise Remus/Sirius. *wince*
But I thought it was truly an AWESOME fic. Thank you MysteryWriter!!

Thank you! I'm glad you saw funny and sweet elements to the story as well as the angst. I always want to try and have a mix of emotions. I'm very glad you liked the R/J (I adore the pairing myself), and, haha, sorry about the R/S at the end. I do love them, but I actually wasn't intending that at all when I started, but then it just played out that way. Mind of their own, you know. :)

Usually I try to avoid Remus/James pairings because I feel like they'd make better friends, but I read this anyway and was completely blown away! This was a very beautiful piece. They were very James and Remus, with James wanting to take care of him and being headstrong and Remus trying to be selfless and giving up James for Lily. I felt really bad for everyone in the end :[ Everyone kinda ended up with the person they didn't really want in the beginning (save Lily, and maybe Sirius). Anyway, this was a great read! I'm glad I read it :D

Thank you! I'm so glad you gave this a chance. I love writing them together because James does seem to be just a natural caretaker, and Remus definitely needs that even if he hates to admit it. Everyone did get a rather a raw deal in the end, but I like to think time brings them a bit more happiness. (At least until they all die/get sent to prison/are left all alone.) ;p
