Yes, yes, yes. What a perfect use of the prompt!

First off, I love that you utilized a little bit (okay, a lotta bit) of magical theory in your plot. I guess everyone has their little Potter details that they obsess over (politics and what have you); theory's mine.

I also love that this is blatantly R/S without being a romance fic at all. I'm certain you're well-aware of all the layers of meaning my mind came up with--from Remus and Sirius sneaking off together to the last line (which was perfect, by the way).

"Sparks flew."

Of course they did.

Thank you! I've been wanting to do a homemade wand story for a while, so this prompt just struck me right away. (I can never resist sneaking in a tiny bit of R/S.) I'm glad you picked up on all the hints of it. :)

Really brilliant fic, eprime. I'll have you know, I absolutely adore anything dealing with wands, so this fic gets so much love from me. The boys are very clever to think of making their own wands, and it was great to see that they actually worked to some degree. My favorite parts were the bit about painting Peter's toenails (poor boy) and Sirius and Remus taking a hair from each other. The subtle R/S pairing was a great addition. :)

Thank you! I have had a fic bunny for a long time about wand making (usually where Remus has broken Sirius out of Azkaban and they have to create a wand for him, or something like that). But this was more fun. ;) Hee, I liked the painting the toenails bit, too. (I figure Sirius bought some garish color at the drugstore to paint his own fingernails with later.) And you know I can't not sneak R/S in.

Thank you! This was fun to write. I love that relatively innocent, happy period for all the boys, and the pre-slash undertones to R/S always makes me happy. :)

Oh! I absolutely love what you did with this prompt, eprime! It was so funny and all of the little details (like with the acorns) were expertly woven in. It was seamless and so real.

I love James' jealousy at being outdone. Superb. And the ending. Ahahaha. :D

So much love for this.

Thank you! Wand-lore fascinates me, too. Actually, there is so much about magic, if you extrapolate from the books, that could be done, but isn't. It makes you think the wizarding world is filled with mostly really dim people. I guess they keep killing off all the best and brightest in these wars with Dark Wizards.

I'm glad you liked them exchanging hairs. I think a werewolf or Grim wand would produce some pretty awesome magic. ;)
