Challenge 7: Prompts + Writing period
This challenge has been slightly delayed, apologies, but here I present the prompt list for Challenge 7's prompt battle. We have 37 prompts in total and anyone who took part in one of the previous McKay/Weir ficathons may recognise some of the prompts as unfilled prompts from those that have been include here.
All prompts are free to be written by anyone, you can write as much or as little as you like, everything is up to you.
You have a period of just over a month for writing and a submissions post will go up after that period, on 19th February, where you should comment with details of and a link to what you've written - please also make it clear which prompt you wrote for in the subject line or details. Comments are allowed from guests for the prompt battle, so you don't need to be a livejournal user to take part.
If you wish to submit before the end of the writing period, then you can reply to this post with a link to or the writing in a comment if it's short enough to fit.
Though this is primarily a writing challenge, we're quite happy for artists or vidders to submit works resulting from any of the below prompts and we can include links to them in the masterlist for everyone to enjoy. The masterlist will be posted up a few days after the submissions post, around the 23rd February.
The List
Prompt 1 - to ensure that Rodney is happy, Miko sets him up on a blind date with Dr Weir.
Prompt 2 - to distract Rodney from the arrow in his arse, Ronon asks him to describe Elizabeth Weir.
Prompt 3 - Rodney attends the Weir Family Reunion.
Prompt 4 - Elizabeth's cousin Helen Cutter {nee Weir} stops by. (Primeval crossover)
Prompt 5 - Alternate ending to Epiphany ala unending, the group gets trapped in the time dilation field after the ancients leave. But please, no where NEAR as long as 50 years.

Prompt 7 - Write a futurefic dealing with McKay and Weir’s grown up children discovering how their parents came to be together.
Prompt 8 - "Elizabeth is God!" Do not include Sheppard/Weir.
Prompt 9 - A decent friendship fic for McKay and Weir. Just bonding of the friend type, and I don't mind how. Do not include romance, not even hints of for any pairing.
Prompt 10 - Four specifications: sex, lies, videotape and cake. Do not want to read Shep/McKay or any slash.
Prompt 11 - Sam/Rodney/Liz ot3
Prompt 12 - Four specifications: 1) A bowl of ice cream. 2) Reference to Teal'c of Stargate: SG-1. 3) Dr. Beckett 4) Sheep. Do not include Dr. Kavanagh
Prompt 13 - Write a missing scene for “Condemned” where Elizabeth is worrying for Rodney’s safety.
Prompt 14 - $ specifications: Valentine’s Day, chocolate, eavesdropping, Ancient technology. Do not want to read slash or adult.
Prompt 15 - Write about Zelenka finding out about M/W detective story style. Do not include Zelenka walking in on them at the wrong time, video or audio footage
Prompt 16 - Liz and Rodney are stranded somewhere (how is up to the writer) and have to survive for a night or two. Cuddling is good, snarking is better, and I will love the writer forevermore if they manage to keep the characters in-character. They have to get out of their situation. Do not include PWP or sex.
Prompt 17 - Imposter!Rodney. Basically, the Atlantis version of the X-Files episode "Small Potatoes." An imposter takes over Rodney's life and puts the moves on Elizabeth. Can contain drama and angst, but must contain a humorous look at Rodney's life, or lack thereof. ;)
Prompt 18 - Write a fic where McKay finds out about Shep attacking Weir in “Conversion”.
Do not include established relationship.
Prompt 19 - Four specifications: A birthday, cake, sibling interactions (can be anyone, but M&MM appeals ;)), someone getting a face full of whipped cream in public and liking it. (Do not include angst, relationship, noncon, Earth. Issued by Trialia.)
Prompt 20 - McKay defending Elizabeth from some sort of heckler. Do not include Sheppard in any form.
Prompt 21 - Four specifications: a piece of clothing, a set of earrings, the phrase "I never knew you had one that big", and being caught in a compromising situation.
Prompt 22 - Rodney and Elizabeth are captured by the Genii and reluctant hero Rodney saves the day. Do not include sex, slash, Sheppard/Weir, "Liz", swearing.
Prompt 23 - Four specifications: the movie RENT, chocolate, books, and smut. Do not include Sheppard, angst.
Prompt 24 - What is Hoffan or Genii culture like? Delve as deeply as you like, speculate. Include Rodney and/or Elizabeth in this delving. Do not include Genii-bashing, Hoffan-bashing, Sheppard, Asgard.
Prompt 25 - Four specifications: simultaneous, needed, casualty, star. Do not include slash, Sheppard/Weir, McKay/Carter.
Prompt 26 - McKay is right about something that seemed impossible and so everyone must praise his mighty intelligence. Can be zany/humorous. (Do not include slash, adult, Sheppard/Weir, babies, kids.
Prompt 27 - Any combination of one-word prompts from the previous McKay/Weir prompt battle here
Prompt 28 - Season 1/stranded AU where the Athosians get the wrong idea about Elizzabeth and Rodney after they attend a festival together + they get given a joint gift.
Prompt 29 - odd animals + an away mission featuring Elizabeth in a prominent role.
Prompt 30 - Rodney discovers Elizabeth can sing. Extra love for working in piano playing from him or other characters being musical.
Prompt 31 - Elizabeth teaches Rodney a foreign language in secret.
Season 5 specific prompts
Prompt 32 - just why did the team get given leather uniforms? Surely Elizabeth had some say in that... + does everyone have one? ;)
Prompt 33 - Season 5! McKay more scatterbrained and hyper in Season 5 because he's become an insomniac (post Elizabeth stress depression etc) and is trying meditation/counceling sessions with Teyla to work out his issues.
Prompt 34 - After two years of believing Elizabeth to be dead, she steps through Atlantis's Stargate. She is more surprised when she sees Rodney. To her, Rodney has been dead for two years.
Prompt 35 - Rodney is haunted by nightmares after the events of "Lifeline"
Prompt 36 - Elizabeth may have given up but Rodney hasn't, post "This Mortal Coil"
Prompt 37 - Mckay/Keller angst. Jennifer knows there's something missing that she can't heal.
