So the boys kept wanting to do stuff at TITP so we didn't get home until after 2 PM which meant they were past the will nap window. So I ended up not getting a nap break today. They are fine, I'm a touch cranky. But we did have a ton of fun and we leave in 1/2 hour to pick up daddy so it's cool. Daddy doesn't know it yet but he's giving me a ( Read more... )

TITP=This is the Place State Park, it's a pioneer reenactment village built around the area where Brigham Young said "This is the right place". It's across the street from Hogle Zoo. It takes about 1/2 hour to get there from my house, so not too far! It's great for toddlers because they have a petting zoo and horse rides and train rides and pioneer activities (like leather work and pioneer chores and pulling a handcart etc) for the kids to do. We have a membership so it's free for us to go.

I knew it had to be church related by the statue. Sounds like a fun place!

What's actually kinda cool is it is state owned park so it's giggle worthy sometimes to hear them attempt to explain who people are without crossing the religion line. It is kinda neat to hear people talked about in a purely historical perspective gives you a whole nother perspective on them you know? Also after seeing the size of the cabin that Marjorie Hinkley's great whatever grandmother raised her family in I'm amazed that they ever HAD 7 children..it's tiny! I really need to take a picture sometime! (It's the actual cabin too a lot of the buildings are they moved them to the park from all over the state!)

that picture of connor looking in the basket of the statue combined with your comment has me laughing hysterically. You are too funny Melissa. And that's some serious time you guys put in at TITP if you know the animals on a first name basis. I am a big fan of cows and I would like to think that Ian takes his love of cows after me. Ooops, we don't share the same genetic makeup do we? Oh well, I probably whispered it in his ear when he was a baby and he is remembering how lovely cows are. Great pictures. Can I put the picture of connor looking in the basket combined with your comment on my blog? I'm seriously cracking up over that. It's too funny not to share.

Of course! And honestly that is exactly what he was doing he kept saying "mommy look in here in here..." and I said "what's in there?" and he said "mmm snacks mommy and water!" I have no idea why he thought that but it made me giggle!

Lawn_mama called. She is doing pretty well. Said that weaning her youngest was more painful. She wanted me to pass the info along.
