So. Vacation.

Next week I am taking my first vacation sans parental units.  Yes, I'm 28.  I'm also poor, so I generally tag along when they come east.  Getting this vacation has not been without its drama.

Hey, you're going to be in my neck of the woods!

The Spy Museum is way cool...you should enjoy it. And the brand new Ocean Hall is opening to the public at Natural History this weekend, so you're in luck! I'd also recommend the National Gallery, which is one of my favorite museums here. There's the National Book Festival on Saturday as well, sponsored by LOC and that's on the Mall.

What I see missing on your to do list is food, though! DC is no NY, but there are some excellent restaurants here. :)

Food recs would be awesome! I'm staying close to the Capitol and the Mall, but restaurants anywhere would be great.

Oh and also, there's the Crafty Bastards arts and craft fair on Sunday in Adam's Morgan. I've never been, but the website (at washingtoncitypaper.com) has an impressive gallery of vendors.

Cuisine...let's see. My favorites are Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Chinese.

God. If I go to that, I'm going to fill my bag with even more handmade jewelry. Not that that's a bad thing :)
