[It's a good thing Silence monitors the phone lines, despite being unable to use them himself. He gets the news of the zombie spread early, and isn't even taken much by surprise by it - his own world has zombies, though they don't spread there as they seem to in Mayfield. But this is Mayfield; nothing works as it should

[Lucas, perhaps, had warned Silence after ceasing his conversation with Deadpool. The boy is pale and shaken. The zombies in his own homeland... Somehow, the creatures had reanimated from the graveyard of Tazmily after the invasion of the Pigmask Army. The thought had crossed his mind at that time that his mother's body could, perhaps, be tainted, and he had spent many long nights keeping vigil during those tenuous in-between years.

He looks at the note he is given and smiles wanly.]

WILL MAKE SURE CROWE IS OKAY. THEN HELP WHO I CAN. [Silence doesn't look so much dutiful as matter-of-fact as he writes this. He's been a patrol officer long enough that the idea of not doing his duty has simply ceased to occur to him.] MAY BRING PEOPLE BACK HERE FOR SAFETY, OR FIND OTHER DEFENSIBLE LOCATIONS.

...A normal house like this might not be safe enough to defend against what's out there. We should look for somewhere really safe.

TRUE. BUT MAY HAVE TO MAKE DO UNTIL/UNLESS I CAN FIND SOMETHING BETTER. [Silence shrugs at this. Judging by the way his wings are fluttering in agitation, he wants to get going.] IF I DO, WILL COME FIND YOU AND TAKE YOU THERE. SO STAY HERE.

[Judging by the expression on Silence's face, even he doesn't really expect Lucas to do what he's telling him to. But what else can he do? He can't forcibly hold the boy, or hover over him until the threat passes while others might need his help.]
