Turns out Dad hit Manny with the car on my birthday... then had to be put down on Wednesday... and there was a huge family conspiracy not to tell me because I wasn't home this week...

I'm confused.... do they want me to move out? I'm over reacting...

Poor cat... what a horrible accident. Hope everyone's coping; I know how hard it can be to lose an old family friend like that.

As for why they didn't tell you....
I'd guess they didn't want to put any extra stress on you, since you've been horribly overworked lately. They might've figured it'd be easier to come to terms with this during the weekend, when you've got slightly less on your mind and your plate.
That, and not wanting to spoil your birthday.

I know I was over reacting... but it did seem kinda important... and then when I did find out I had to go have a cry doing the dishes at work...

Sigh... Oh well, they thought it was for the best and these things happen...
