Don't you need a majority anyway -- of everyone, I mean, not just the people who show up? 'cause otherwise surely people could just show up early, vote on their own bills by themselves, and take over the country. Anyway, it would be unethical of me to know how they were going to vote or to make them vote they way I wanted. But I have no problem with tricking people into turning up!

Yes, I was hoping that the people who were going to vote for it would be a majority. It's just that the people likely to vote against it are also the people most likely to try and shoot me.

Then again, presumably they'd try to shoot me at more convenient times than on the Senate floor. Unless they have a flair for the dramatic.
