Totally could work. But my concern would be on where to find a hearty supply of the hydrochloric acid and how to carry its surplus on my body for refill when I start to run out.

As a matter of fact I'm reading DEADLINE right now. :) FEED sits on my shelf next to AMERICAN GODS and THE FIREBRAND which means it will never, ever get sold to Powell's. It is one of my all-time favorites.
