So, perhaps another stupid question but...what does a prayer shawl mean? Is it spiritual in reference or is that a type of knit?

A prayer shawl is a shawl one wears to pray in, simply put. But for me, while I knit it, I do a mantra in my head.

For example, I finished a silvery prayer shawl last year where the pattern was 3 knits, 3 purls, repeat across the row. So with every stitch, I recited, "Maiden, Mother, Crone". :)

This red one is dedicated to a goddess I am currently working with. So I shall wear it whenever I am at Her shrine meditating (in my home) or if I wish to honour Her presence at festivals.

How awesome. :) I cant knit but I can crochet and I like this idea a lot. I think I shall have to do more research!

Beautiful by the way! It matches your hair. :)
