Sherlock's voice broke through John's lazy afternoon like a ball through glass. "I don't need an appointment. Don't you know who I am? We have to discuss...rent." Hell, it had worked before! Why not have it work again?
Sherlock managed to get into John's office a moment later, a wide eyed Sarah behind him and one of the other larger, burlier doctors spitting bullets at him.
"John." Sherlock looked lovely and tousled and a bit nuts.
John had frowned at his door, blinking a few times, almost certain he was hearing Sherlock's voice but... Why would he be here?
His eyes widened as he found it was indeed Sherlock Holmes barging into his office. It took him a moment but he was up and waving Sarah and the other doctor away, "It's fine. I'll be taking my lunch break now, yeah?" And closed the door as Sarah nodded, not really approving of Sherlock but letting it go. This time.
Turning back to the other man now that the door was closed, "What are doing here?"
"To see you," Sherlock said under no false pretences as thumbed the lock closed on the door and sat in the spare seat at the other side of John's desk. Out came his mobile and he pulled up his latest text message, sending the phone across the desk for John to catch. "Tell me what you make of this?" he said, pressing his fingertips together in thought.
The image was of a throat, bruised, and a collar. A woman's collar. It was hard to make out anything other than a hand across the woman's skin. There were no revealing marks on it.
John caught the mobile and, after realising what the picture was of, frowned deeply. After a moment, he shook his head, "Evidence of attempted - or successful - strangulation?" Was someone bragging to Sherlock what they had done? Or was someone trying to warn Sherlock what had been done to them?
