Two years had passed since the last time I saw her. I felt as if half of myself was torn but I knew I had to finish high school and become suitable enough for her. I pushed away all the crap away and concentrated hard to get into college and making money. Lucifer helped me the business area -- and seriously without him I would've been lost. Finally, I was able to go back to Kai and hold that kind figure within my arms. The thing I didn't realize was that... I was to late.

When I went back to the states, I went straight back to Akira's place so that he could take me to his cousin's house. He was more than happy to do so -- I guess because I haven't been there in a while and he missed out on the Rei.
When I saw her, I was shockinly stunned. She had grown. Physically, she was fucking sexy as hell. It took all my heart and soul to keep my hands to myself and away from her. She went from the puny little kid back two years ago to a sexy young lady. If there was a god, he had answered my prayers. He sent me my piece of heaven on earth. She was even smarter now and it seems she was nutured into being a grown lady -- very sexy if I may add. She was like a perfect piece of art work that had been worked on for centuries on end. I couldn't tear my eyes from her until that one phone call.
Her cellphone vibrated in her pocket during our conversation on how she had changed. She was still as innocent as she had been back then minus the part where she knows much more for her age than she should. She took her phone call, standing and walking into a different room.
Her voice was heard throughout the living room. I couldn't help myself but to eavesdrop on her conversation over the phone. She sounded sweet and innocent. Something inside me boiled, I couldn't tell whether it was jealousy or anger. She seemed to be teasing the person on the other end of the line. Finally, she got off and came back to us.
She turned to Akira and informed him something she had learned from her conversatoin. "Danny's coming over."
I felt Akira flinch but he kept a cool face and smiled. "That's cool. When's he coming?"
"He said he was on his way." Right after she said that there was a knock at the door, "Speaking of the devil." She ran to the door. She lookedl ike she was enjoying herself. Then it happened. She stood on her toes and hugged the other man at the door. Their lips touched and the sound of my heart shattering rang in my ears. Instantly, I stood up from my seat and dismissed myself. Without a moments hesitation I darted out the door once Kai and Danny moved out of the way.

I went back to Japan. I couldn't think clearly. I needed to get away. Every minute I thought of her and that Danny guy together, my heart feels like it was being stepped on but why? I didn't own. She wasn't even mine but why did it hurt so much? That night was a blur. I remember throwing my stuff off my shelves and desks, turning my desk over, and letting everything fall and break in my room. The mornng I woke up, I was lying in my room, which was now a wreck from the night before.
I couldn't get myself to do anything. I just stayed downstairs in the basement, which was also our kendo room. I did nothing but train. I punched and kicked as hard as I could, sometimes breaking the punching bag or boards. The thoughts of Kai always coming back to me everything I stopped and tried to think clearly. Finally, Lucifer clearly had enough, he tore me from the studio and took me outside. It had turned dark before I had known it. I felt the breeze of the night chill my body.
He sat down off the side of the sliding doors. He rested his back against one of the sliding doors. Then he just looked up at me, expecting me to sit next to him. I did so, in fear of being beat down until I did so. "You know there are other fish in the sea." His Japanese voice was fluent and cool to my head.
My voice on the other hand was harsh and unstable, "I don't know what you are talking about." I knew I couldn't keep anything from him but clearly he had enough of my stupidity.
"Akira called." That explained the reason he knew. "He wanted to apologize for not telling you sooner... about Kai." He said it as if I didn't know already.
I just ducked my had and let out a heavy sigh.
Silence drew in between up but was filled with the cold air which hit my burning skin. I knew he was right, there were other fish in the sea. I used to go from girl to girl, what made Kai so special? Obviously... everything. I couldn't even lie to myself.
Finally, I spoke up breaking the long silence that had sat still between us. "What should I do?"
Lucifer just shrugged, which didn't help much. Then he stood up and turned to leave. "But whatever you do. Don't forget you're not the only one in this world." With that he left for his room.
I took out my cellphone and dialed a number I knew I was going to regret later.
"Moshi mosh?"
"Eddy? Do you have any time tomorrow?"
"Rei?"
"Yeah."
"Of course! Want me to come over? You are in Japan, aren't you?"
"Yeah."
"Alright! I'll be over early in the morning."
"Fine."
I could hear him squeal before we both hung up. One girl couldn't and wouldn't make a difference in my life. It was all choices that were stupid. Now I was going to enjoy myself with an acompany of my friends. Then I called two other friends and a maid, to clean my room because I was way out of it. My schedule was set for tomorrow. No Kai. No girls. No pain.

The next day, as Eddy promised he came early. Too early. He came around five in the morning. I was guessing he was doing it to bug the fuck out of me but I guess it worked. I was ready to through a punch at him but Andrew and Jared had already shown up early. They were all down at the entertainment room. Eddy and Andrew were playing video games while Jared sketched on the couch.
I went to sit next to Jared watching him sketch a portrait of Andrew. I saw him flush as I watched him so I turned away and watched Andrew and Eddy got at with the controls to the game.
After a while we all came to an agreement on playing one game, truth or dare. I could care less what we played as long as I was preoccupied. Eddy brought an empty champagne bottle from the kitchen and set it down. He was about to go when Lucifer walked in and wondered what we were up to. Immediately, he joined in on the games.
Eddy spun the bottle and it landed on Andrew. "Truth or dare?"
Andrew was man enough to say, "Bring it on, dare."
"Alright. I want you to... kiss Jared... on the lips." An evil grin appeared on Eddy's face. I was glad that I wasn't chosen by Eddy.
Andrew looked at Jared apologetically. Jared allowed Andrew to do his task and the game went on with awkward tension from each sides. This time Andrew spun and it landed on Lucifer.
Lucfier chose truth, he didn't want any drama. He was lucky and passed with a good task. Lucifer spun and this time it landed on me. "Ototou, what do you choose? There's no mercy in either."
Damn. Speaking of the devil, I had to be chosen by him. "Dare."
His smiled curled up into an evil smirk. Right when he was about to start, my cellphone rang. I took it immediately, in fear of what Lucifer's task may be. The caller ID had said it was someone from the states but I couldn't see who it was. I just answered it. "Moshi mosh?"
"Rei-kun desuka?"
"Hai. Kimi wa?"
"Ano... Rei-kun..." The voice was awfully familiar and was now shaky. The feminine voice sounded like she was crying and in pain. "... doko deshyo?"
"At home in Japan. Who's this?"
"Nevermind then. Thank you though."
"Could you please tell me who this is."
"Kai." She said before she hung up. The feelings came back up. Something was wrong and I could feel it in my gut.
Immediately I took my stuff and dashed out the door. I made my way toward the airport and got an immediate first class ticket back to the states. I made it in half a day but still enough time.
I took a car and speeded all the way to Kai's house. When I approached it, I was relieved to see nothing wrong but I knew there was something big going on and I just didn't know.
