You do realize that you have to follow that up with a good story right?

Well...(deep breath) After walking all the way to the N train from our apartment (a little under a mile, distance wise), I find people pouring out of the station because apparently there's a broken rail and none of the trains are running. Fantastic. So, I try to catch the Q102 train (which will also take me to Queensboro Plaza where I would transfer to the 7 train), but because there are so many people stranded I can't get on because it's too full. So I decide to catch the Q18 back up in the direction I'd just come from. So, I take that to Steinway Street and then walk to the R/V line. After arriving there, I find out that the R train isn't running either, so I take the V, which is going extra slow and stopping constantly. Apparently there was a signal malfunction so any train running on that line was running extra slowly. So I take the V to 53rd street, transfer to the 6 and finally get to work, only to discover that I've left my security card at home ( ... )

Wow, I think I would have walked home and just called in sick to work!

I seriously considered it, but I knew that there would be other people living in a similar area who would still make it in to work. This was of course, exemplified by the crowd of people that took the exact same route I did.
I think that if I wasn't able to get the V train after getting all the way over there that I probably would've called into work and said that I was trapped in Queens and could I take a personal day. It was much too cold outside to be doing so much walking.
