So, I'm writing for Yuletide, and I don't want to do anything that'll send my reader to the thesaurus. So I'm brewing tea. Specifically, a character is brewing tea, and I'm trying to figure out what term to use.

I know from experience that tea in America, especially if you're doing it in an office, is likely to be in a teabag. That's not the problem

A Kettle or even Tea Kettle. At least here in Michigan!!!

Fantastic: that's what I ended up going with. It felt safer. I've just discovered a massive inconsistency in the source material, though, so it's going to be a long night.
