I'm going to a screening tonight! I have to say that I have really been looking forward to this, BUT after seeing an interview with Daniel Radcliffe, on the news last night, I'm a little nervous. I'm not a "scary movie" kind of gal and he says it's really scary. Oh well, I'll just peek between my fingers now and then, I guess. I'll just have to ( Read more... )

OK. I liked it. Even though, because of time constraints, there was a lot of stuff missing, of course, I liked the directing in this movie way more than GoF. This director, to my mind, understands the world of Harry Potter much better than the last guy. I think you'll be happier with Dumbledore in this movie too. I believe that my theory about "direction" in the last movie, vis-a-vis Dumbledore, was proven in this one. Also, I liked Harry in the movie, more than Harry in the book, which didn't take much. I don't want to say too much more as I don't want to spoil it for you.

You are right about Gambon, altho I still cringed everytime he came on screen.
I agree about Harry.
Luna made the movie for me!! (altho Umbidge was great. I saw it Thurs afternoon, and hopefully JD, Ruby and I will go see it Sunday after church. They haven't seen it yet. I was tempted to stay and just watch it a second time thru, but Kathy would have had to come back, and I was hungry :D
I will prly comment more after the second time, unless you are at david's today, and we can have a lot of fun talking about it :D

Nope. Rabbi's son's Bar Mitzvah was Saturday morning and we had rehearsal for Wizard of Oz the rest of the day. It opens this Saturday. Eek!

I definitely need to see it again! (I wish I could go with you, but I have to figure out the right amount of food coloring to make gray chocolate chip cookies.) I LOVED Luna! That was really great casting and direction, I think. I also liked Tonks a lot...just wish she'd had more screen time. I have mentioned to other people that I am a little disappointed in Emma Watson. She hasn't really grown too much, as an actress, although she is lovely. I hope the next movie shows some growth and maturity, as I think the storyline in HBP really requires it. I kind of liked the "foreshadowing" with Ginny. It was subtle, but there, if you know what I mean.
Hey, look at the bright side, at least with Gambon playing Dumbledore, you won't be too sad to see him buy the farm at the end of HBP. JK!!

Love you, Bro!
