OOM: Dinner in Venice

Mar 14, 2007 20:54

*The bar's door opens into a mid-sized flat in Venice. It's very Rai, both deeply practical and mystical. Every shelf and table is strewn with crystals in varying sizes and shapes, some inscribed in Greek and Ogham, others clean and unmarked. A computer sits on an antique rolltop desk, surrounded by a stack of advanced math texts and a very old, very worn looking copy of Aristotle. The sofas are deep and plush, upholstered in deep violet that matches Rai's eyes when she's calm exactly. An A-frame ladder leans against the wall next to the kitchen door and a bag of something small and sparkling is hooked over it. The living room gives way directly to a charming nook with a scarred table, completely covered with tea cups, each of which has a small amount of tea leaves in the bottom. The west-facing wall is all glass, some colored and some clear and contains a door out to a balcony that is nearly the size of the living room. A small table has been set over by the railing with service for two and a pair of flickering white tapers. Beyond that, the canals are visible, as is the slowly setting sun*
