I haven't spoken to any of the other mods so I'm unsure on how they stand on the topic but my inbox is crazy full of re-upload messages. I KNOW 99.9% OF MY LINKS ARE DEAD. Megaupload was my primary host but there's still a small batch of posts still have private server links (and those work) and right now, I have no plans to re-upload anything yet ( Read more... )

it sucks.
i used to upload all on megaupload as well, and download them again when i want to listen to that album.
SIGH.

i'm stuck to using mediafire atm.

Me too! I used to work on two laptops between home and uni and basically kept older albums on MU - I was too lazy to redownload everything because I always thought MU was the safest option. I still haven't found another host I like, MF has that size limit when uploading which makes it annoying.

It's okay. Thaaaaaank you for all the hard work you've done! I don't think you mods get thanked and appreciated enough! (And it's totally understandable that the links are dead. The whole SOPA fiasco is awwwful.)

We aren't around alot nowadays, many of us were sort of like, an older generation of uploaders - we've all gotten older and real life has proven that we can't sit at the computer day and night anymore.

I think the thing that makes it more frustrating is I've never realised the number of people who used Megaupload, its literally impossible to find links that date more than few years ago.

I wonder if there's a way to get mobilizing the comm's userbase to reupload the albums they've downloaded (from you or elsewhere)? MU's was a serious blow for my downloading experience. :( Anyway, thank you for your hard work and I hope everyone understands your situation ♥
