Fake SV vid - "The Ballad of Clark Kent"

Nov 20, 2005 02:12

I've always wanted to create a fan video, but since I lack 1)the equipment, like vidding programs 2)space, since my laptop only holds up to 11.2 GB 3)good source material 4)the technical experience to make a good-looking vid, I was never able to. But, ever since I heard the song, I've been dying to vid "The Ballad of Barry Allen" to Smallville. So ( Read more... )

I really like your song choice and choice of images here...I love how you put the "story" together. Not only chose the precise images but mixed it up from all the seasons.

...because he makes the most inspirational Clark vids ever and watching his made me want to make my own.

I was actually going to post "Man, you make me want to learn to vid." His editing is fantastic the image/tempo fit perfectly in that last one (especially in the last third of the song).

Woohoo! First comment! I am so relieved that the "vid" worked for you. Was worried that any reaction I would get was going to be "These images don't match up to the song" or "I can't scroll that fast."

I admit I did cheat a little. I picked the most distinctive/pretty screenshots from a scene instead of placing them in strict chronological order. I wanted the viewer to be able to "watch" the scenes unfold in their mind.

Do you think I can put this up on the Smallville Fan Art thread in TWoP? I know it's not really a fan vid, but I would like to post it in as many places as possible.

I really like your song choice

It's my fav song written about a superhero and it fits with SV Clark so well. How could I not use it?

I was actually going to post "Man, you make me want to learn to vid."

Thank you! That's a great response! I want to learn how to vid so I can make this, but it'd probably come off as really amateurish.

i loved this! a little hard to time - i found it easier if i looked at the pictures first, and then put them to music. still, it's extremely cool.

but now two people have recced vyperman7's vids - where's the best place to find them?

Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it. Your method was probably the best way of viewing it. :)

Here's a link for vyperman's vids:

I haven't seen all of them yet. I think he regularly rotates them, there are some of his that seem to be missing. Of the ones on there, I'm partial to "Journey" and "Invincible."

hi,

I am one of the mods for sv_vids (but dont expect me to have any knowledge about vidding, I am just organizing things like recs, my co-mod elandrialore
is the expert for vids *g*.
but I do agree with you, vypermans vids are really great, I am going to rec them some day in the future.
sorry, that you dont have the appropiate comp, and equipment to make *real* vids, but I know a way to create something close to a vid, and you can do it with the images and the song you have. how about you create a screensaver with your song file??
there is freeware to do that, write me an email (the address is in my userinfo). and I will tell you where and how to do that.

forgot, to your questions, I have broadband net access, so your pics showed up very quickly, but it would be nothing for dial-up users, since its really VERY image heavy.
you should add a warning, like "Not dial-up friendly" or something like that.

A screensaver! I hadn't even thought of that at all. That would be pretty cool. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely email you and get the info.
