[It's early. Or, maybe it's late. With vampires, it's hard to tell these things. Either way, they've been here for a while, sprawled out in a tangle of limbs in a nest of sheets, quilts, and comforters in the Old Bedroom with the painted windows and the four-poster bed

Hard to believe this would come after more of their odd "fighting" - which was never actually fighting, but wasn't anything else, either; fists and teeth and a cacophony of laughter (mostly on Allen's part) - or that something this easy could come after, but sometimes it just did.
It made Allen feel like a newborn again. Back when he came back to this room every night for a few weeks, and he was actually content even if things were so odd everywhere else.
(Really, he loved this room.)
Allen's eyes flutter open when Lavi moves, having been snoozing again, and he tilts his head - although he doesn't move to sit up, just peering at the other curiously. He hums.]

Punctuated by moments of snoozing and piling closer.
Somewhere, in the back of his mind, Lavi wonders if this is how it's supposed to be. With their kind, at least. Chasing after a hunt at night, and piling behind curtains during the day.
Would he like a life like that? He's not sure.
He reaches out to brush his thumb just under Allen's right eye.]
S'nothin'.
[But his eye is darting between Allen's, as if still looking for something.]
S'kinda glassy. Y'don't sleep.

It isn't as though any of them - Lavi, Allen, or Lavi's brother - would know how things are really supposed to be with their kind. Although Allen does think it might be something close to this. It always felt so natural to curl up like this and literally snooze the day away.
Though Allen isn't sure if he'd want a life like that, either.
Still.
Another hum, a lighter note this time. Allen cracks a little smile at that, and tilts his head to brush his nose against Lavi's thumb, before he drops himself up on his right elbow.]
Hard to sleep if we end up talking all day... [Though it's true. He tries to avoid sleep where he can, even if the ring on a chain around his neck (that he never, ever takes off) prevents him ( ... )

No, s'not like that.
[He's looking between them, really. Not focused on one moreso than the other.]
Y'don't sleep at all.
[It's... strangely somber.]
