My mom is still at home and hasn't been asked to evacuate. Although they didn't get any rain in the area today, the temperatures were cooler (85 instead of 95), and it wasn't as windy

I've been watching this and worrying about her. Hope things stay no worse then they are now.

Strangely, just before news of the fire, I was going to ask if she was headed over here for the festival this year.

Fires can be so scary. I understand fires. We live in the Sierra Nevada mountains on the California side. A fire about 7 or 8 years ago took out the flumes that brought water to everyone. It was pretty bad. It is also crazy to see where a fire jumps because sometimes despite the firefighters best efforts there is nothing they can do to stop that.

I'll pray it rains a lot there.
