Being someone else who has always been in love with Lupin, I've got to say I love it. Kudos, my dear - well-imagined and well-executed.

As for the way "his name points to his nature" - I love this factoid and wish fanfic writers would make more of it. Both his first and last names are connected to wolfkind, so it was wonderful foreshadowing in the book, and the fact you mentioned it made me happy.

In conclusion, I loved it. And if possible, I love Lupin even more.

Cool!

It makes me laugh that she named him that way but that being a werewolf isn't hereditary. Didn't his parents ever think about tempting fate? *g*

Glad you liked the story. Thanks.

YES, that is so right. That is so it exactly. As soon as I read Lupin's name I had his secret figured out and I always thought Hermione would get it just as quick. I loved the way you handled that and: "you'd have groaned at the banality of the metaphor (that isn't even a metaphor in his case), but you feel the truth of it all the way down to your toes. is just such a lovely, perfect Hermione sentence: even while indulging in flowerly images, she is bound by logical constraints. Love. it.

Very nice piece all round: lovely Hermione voice.

((also, hello! I friended you because I am currently going out of my mind looking for decent Harry Potter fic and since it is a fandom littered with bad!fic [or really good Harry/Draco, which is good, but I can only take so much and sometimes I just need some canon Ron/Hermione, YOU KNOW?!] I found your quality recommendations and clung on delightedly. Also, Xander IS pretty awesome. So, [waves] hi!))

Thanks so much. So happy it worked, and it sounded like Hermione.

Hi! ::waves::

Yes, HP fic can be... scary to wade through, especially when you're not in it for the Harry/Draco or the Snape.

And anyone who likes Xander is okay with me. *g*

My love for Remus is nothing compare to yours (actually Sirius holds my heart) but I can so relate to Hermione and her 'stupid' crush.

That story is a nice visit in her head -- I liked the naughty bits of her. *g*

Also you made a correct use of the second person POV which really fits the story, imo. :)

Thanks! And who *wouldn't* have a crush on Professor Lupin? *g*

vic, you are a goddess of fic! i love how you have lupin here, as i was reading, i kept picturing a sightly dishelved shaggy ewan mcgregor as lupin. alas, only in a perfect world would that happen. and your hermione blew me away, as usual. i especially love the fact that she keeps this crush tucked away all to herself. not only because of the lockhart fiasco, but because it is something only she knows about, paralleling her knowledge of lupin's true nature up until the end of POA. :)

Heh. Thanks. Being a goddess is good. *g*

Sigh. I know. It's depressing, but in our imaginations, we can always recast. *g*

I always thought that I liked Remus quite a lot, but my adoration pales when compared to Hermione's crush.

There's something about being a teenager and feeling everything *so* deeply that makes it fun to write about.

And it's so like Hermione to be infatuated with a teacher, and particularly Remus with his subtle strength and the secret that only she knows...

*nod*

Intelligent, attractive and mysterious. How could Hermione *not* go for that combination?

Especially after the Lockhart disaster. I have a feeling she'll never be taken in by a pretty face again.

Perhaps when people ask me why I like Remus so much I'll refer them to this fic!

Wow. Thanks. Glad you liked it.
