I figured out the issue with that story I was wrestling with, and as usual, it wasn't working because I was trying to be clever. I need to stop doing that. Either it was just the one scene with the surprise ending or it's a story about a character, and well, it works better as a story than a joke, so. *hands* Writing. It is the worst, except for

ahhhhhh that episode was so good!! Pearl's song was the best part of it, hands down. It might have replaced Do it for Her as my favorite, but i'm not sure because that one is more a favorite style of mine and this one not so much, I just enjoyed the sentiment of it. if 'enjoyed' meant 'cried over.'

But i am going to be a little irritated if they are like yes he definitely blew 10 million dollars like that. I'm sure he didn't and this show is always more sensible than that, but. we'll see. I did enjoy that they discarded most of the things you'd actually do (house, new car, college for Steven) as being things none of them actually needed or even wanted. His dad could spruce up the car wash a little or something.

I'm so glad they showed that he *didn't* blow all his money. He's rich, but he's not going to change!

PEARL'S SONG AAAH. And Steven's song (and his tear). This really showed him maturing and I agree, it was lovely to seem him actively working on bringing them together and using his connection to Rose to help them come together.

PEARL'S TUX ZOMG. And I hadn't even thought of that about the dancing but it's so true. Adored this episode.

It was SUCH A GOOD EPISODE. The best of the summer, I think, even with all the revelations now coming fast and furious.
