you inherit the sins, you inherit the flames

In the course of not sleeping, I've been thinking about Luke and Leia again, and that post floating around tumblr about how of course Leia was tempted by the dark side, and yes, of course, I don't think anyone is being serious when they suggest she's too pure/too good not to. In fact, I think the reason she wouldn't fall would be the exact opposite ( Read more... )

*slow claps*

I really enjoyed the Leia meta, and how she's different from Luke.

And oh, wow, imagining Leia and Vadar's paths crossing on the floor of the senate? I'm having a lot of feelings about that, and about what it says about Leia that Vadar never got anything from her.

Thank you! She's one of my all-time favorite characters and canon just doesn't ever give her enough attention.

Either Leia had very strong natural shields or someone taught her how to hide because the fact that she existed under Vader and Palpatine's noses for so long - she was a senator for like 2 years before ANH even starts - means she was like a steel trap. And then she doesn't give up any information under Vader's mind probe! For real, she's the strongest one to come out of that family.

PREACH.

Have you seen that post going around suggesting that she's the reason stormtroopers have bad aim?

Either Leia had very strong natural shields or someone taught her how to hide because the fact

I would tend to think both? Like, just from her personality, I think Leia would be a hard mind to break into, but I would also bet she had SOME kind of training in that - even if it was traditional 'how to withstand torture' or even 'intense politics training about keeping your cool ALWAYS' that had the same effect as 'this is a lesson on how to withstand jedi mind tricks.'

Because she's unconsciously using the Force? Yeah, I think that would be a great way to explain it.

I would tend to think both

Probably but aside from standard "how to resist torture as a rebel" we don't get to hear about it! I like my own head canon that Ahsoka taught her to shield in childhood.
