I never knew daylight could be so violent

Today's the one year anniversary of my mother's death. I can't believe it's been a year already. It's weird. It's still weird. It gets less overwhelmingly in-your-face weird as time passes, but the overall weirdness of it hasn't gone away yet and I'm guessing it probably never will. I wish I had something more profound or meaningful to share, but I ( Read more... )

aw man, that sucks. It's true, though, that the first year, i think, isn't necessarily the hardest but more like the strangest. The real hard part was actually remembering, for all the times i went to pick up the phone and be like I JUST SAW SOMEONE WEARING UNSEASONAL WHITES or some other such stupid private joke thing. I guess it gets better. Or maybe forgetting just gets easier.

It's definitely been weird. And yeah, I totally get what you mean - there have been many, many times when I was like, "I have to tell Mommy about this...Oh, right."

My thoughts are with you on this anniversary. <3

I have been wondering if we'll watch Gotham, because I have this dread feeling that I'll be bored by it, but it's nominally the kind of show mr. muse and I like to share. I think I'll let it pile up on the TiVo and see how fan friends feel about it.

But YAY FOR SLEEPY HOLLOW!!

Thank you. *hugs*

I think letting it pile up on the DVR might be the best way to do it, depending on how it goes. It definitely suffered from pilot-itis, and a bit from "HEY THIS KID IS GONNA BE BATMAN ONE DAY" syndrome, but there are some things in it that could make it a good watch. We'll see.

Sleepy Hollow is so much fun! It just entertains me tremendously. I don't need much more than that.

Hey, honey. I'm around, if you want to talk about your mom. Or TV, particularly the Cary hour, which was just fantastic.

i liked gotham but i had very low expectations for it. (those expectations were basically "donal logue! on my tv!" which is kind of a low bar.)

it's kind of nice to know that sleepy hollow is still totally ridiculous and batshit and that the mills sisters still kick ass. jenny will rescue herself, thankyouverymuch, and abbie is just super smart. ("leftenant"! and the fistbump!) and ichabod was so irritated and annoyed at how much people like benjamin franklin. i love irritated!ichabod. but OF COURSE he was franklin's apprentice. i eyerolled kinda hard at that. but the hugs! ALL THE HUGS. and andy trying to demonstrate that he still has free will! and henry is just gleefully evil. it's such a cheerfully nutbar show, i love it.

also, *hugs* for your mom.

Donal Logue was a really excellent Harvey Bullock! I had hopes when I saw the casting, and he delivered. I feel like the show could get a lot better pretty quickly once they tone down the HERE'S ANOTHER BAT-ROGUE and also give Gordon a little more texture.

it's such a cheerfully nutbar show, i love it.

YES. It has no fucks to give! It just wants to bring the maximum amount of nutty joy into our lives and I am okay with that.

*hugs*

Thanks.
