the case was much more ridiculous than they normally are. i was totally confused after like twenty minutes. none of it made any sense to me. and the ears growing out of sarah's back were squicky as hell. EW.
on the other hand, joan was pretty fabulous with lestrade - calling him out for his drinking and then trying to help him get back to detecting. and joan and sherlock are always lovely to watch. but yeah, where was clyde?
Yeah, the case was negligible - like, they wanted to use the ear cloning thing, so they crafted a case around it in which nobody's motives were ever actually explained - but Joan was awesome, and of course, having Lestrade around really highlights how Joan is a partner, not Sherlock's assistant, and not riding his coattails.
