Last night, I went to a lovely and delicious dinner party at M's since her and L's friends N. and S. were in town and had recently gotten married. So that was a lot of fun, though I ate and drank more than I should have, and didn't get to bed until 1 am

Theirs was the relationship in the first X-men film that I most adored, and I'm totally with you as far as that trope goes. The Bill Murray/Scarlett Johansson interaction in Lost in Translation had a similar film and I loved it for that.

Pierce is vile. Occasionally amusing, and you can see the little insecurities under the surface that they're using to somehow justify his behaviour, but honestly he's just a horrible person and I can't really get around that.
I'm rewatching Community and last night I rewatched the Advance Dungeons and Dragons episode. That was his nadir for me, I think. If it was real life no one would let him anywhere near them ever again.

I haven't seen S4 yet, though I did hear that Donald Glover and Chevy Chase are leaving. I'll miss Troy - he and Abed are kind of awesome together - but I really won't miss Pierce.
