render up my body into the burning heart of god

Last night my iPad freaked out and I had to restore it to factory settings, which is fine, because there was a backup and it then restored my settings from that, but it took OVER FOUR HOURS to complete the process. I think Robin the iPad is jealous of Oracle the Kindle (which I have been using since I got it since it was a gift from my boss and she ( Read more... )

Also, there is an awful lot of time devoted to scrounging up enough money to eat and not actually managing it in both sources.
Yeah, but in Champloo, it actually makes fucking sense since they don't keep refusing money because of honorrrrrrrr and shit.

On the other hand, while I enjoyed Samurai Champloo, I feel like I didn't really connect as much emotionally with it?
Aw. I had the opposite experience.

I cannot stress enough how good the music is in Cowboy Bebop, and that factor just isn't there with Samurai Champloo.
Really? I thought it was also very music-focused, though it was more into hip-hop than jazz.

WHY WOULD YOU RECOMMEND SOMETHING WHERE ROCKS FALL AND EVERYBODY DIES ACTUALLY HAPPENS+
Haaaaa, I was sooooo afraid of this too.

SO THEY BASICALLY AGREE THAT THEY ARE FAMILY AND THEN THEY ALL WALK AWAY FROM EACH OTHER WHAT THE FUCK. THAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANTED.
But, come on, how many times did they do that throughout the course of the series? My headcanon is that they were back together ten minutes later.

Heh. True. I don't think Mugen would ever allow that.

Was it? The only music that made an impression on me were the folk songs.

Heh. True. It was just a disappointment to me, though, after all that emotionally satisfying stuff where they admitted to caring about each other.

>>Also, I didn't really get the vibe that she was in love with Spike, which I have seen a lot of people mention. << I agree with you. But I frequently seem to be watching different shows to other people.

Heh. Yeah. I thought that was way more about her abandonment issues than any romantic feelings for Spike.

Haha, the thing that confuses me the most about the end of Samurai Champloo is that they walk away from each other --- on an island with ONE ferry station? So ... aren't they going to run into each other again in like ... an hour?

Are they still on the island when that happens? If so, then yes, they would meet at the ferry and it would be hilarious. Someone should write fic where that happens. *chinhands*

I'm happy you're happy! I think for me, the reason I liked Bebop more is the genre? Space western noir is more my thing than historical samurai road trip, I guess.
