she said, "it's sad enough to break"

Sep 13, 2012 13:08

I had to be in at 8 am this morning, so I had to get up at 6:30 instead of 7:30, so OF COURSE I had the dream where my alarm didn't go off and then there was a blizzard and the subways were shut down and I had to share a cab with a bunch of strangers (actually much less worse in the dream than in the reality from two weeks ago) and couldn't get a ( Read more... )

comics: journey into mystery, books, comics: winter soldier, dreams, i am okay with that!

There was a new WS issue this week?! Ack! *scrolls past spoilers*

I need to figure out a way/time to get to the shop before tumblr spoils me.

So I read it and oh wow. I think I would have taken it better if Fury had died and not Sitwell. Why did they give him personality only to kill him, damnit?!

And oh wow. So heart broken for them and I loved how Cap, Clint and Logan showed up with Hill calling the shots.

And huh. It doesn't necessarily look like they ARE going to go for the Clint/Natasha ship. At least not yet.

Which has me wondering, apparently Hawkeye #1 takes place after the events of AvX. Do we know when WS is taking place? It must be after as well, yeah? Or is it basically it's own timeline as well? So confusing, really.

Anyway, I tried to flail about this on twitter but no one cares so you get the brunt of my comics feels. Lo siento.

Who knows if Sitwell will actually stay dead? And there's always movieverse! *g*

I have not tried to figure out when anything is happening in relation to anything else outside of each book. That way lies madness.

I was so pleased to see Cap finally show up, as well as Clint and Logan.

Surely the only correct response to the death of a comicbook character is: "Oh no, not again."

Well, yes, but my dad hasn't read comics since the 1940s so.

i love that your dad called to talk to you about comic books. (does this mean he's reading avengers vs x-men? how cool!)

Ahhhh, must read the Finnikin series. Met Melina Marchetta at a signing about a month ago, and she was SO COOL that now I want to read everything she's ever written!

They're really good! Though maybe wait until the third book is out.

Oh man, Brubaker, why do you insist on destroying what you created yourself?

Well, I was expecting things to get even worse (they were very bad, but I worry a lot) this issue, though, so I'm not as devastated as I could have been xD I'm pretty sure he'll make up for it soon enough, though :(

I cried a bit when Steve and Clint and even Logan appeared. Superhero friendships are so lovely when done well T____T

Also loved the way the artist drew Maria, and the panels of angsty Bucky and the flashbacks were neat too.

Maria was gorgeous and super sharp. Loved that.

The flashback scenes were so, so gorgeous and oh my heart!

Yeah, I get that he probably wanted to go out with a bang, but he did so well by the relationship, and by Natasha (which, given that I didn't much like what he did with Sharon, I was pleased and surprised by), and it's just painful to watch this happen to her and Bucky.

I think the art on this book is just gorgeous.
