I slept for nearly nine hours last night, and I am still as tired and bleary-eyed as on Monday, when I'd only slept four, and I so don't want to do any work. Ugh.
there is a specific reminder to stay through the credits so... footage from IM3? Another short? I assumed it was for the already-known credits cookies, but hm!
But everyone already knows about that. Highlighting it again makes me think they might have added something (or they want us to think that to drive us to see it again).
But I am loving it -- it just feels really obviously not just *about* women, but *by* a woman.
*nod nod*
I mean, I really loved Carol's interactions with Steve and Peter - they couldn't have picked better characters to start her off with - but I am also digging her friendships with other women, and I just want more of the story now!
Reading Winter Soldier #9 aka crying and saying no repeatedly.
Those are some good thoughts :) It reminded me of the Bucky/Steve situation too.
And yes, Bucky being angsty, shirtless and his arm being prominent... all that made me go "stop being so damned attractive while I'm busy being sad" xD
Seriously though, the fact there was a glimmer of hope (I didn't buy it completely - that felt too easy, but still), and then things got 1000 times worse really made this issue.
Plus kudos to the artist for not making Natasha fighting in a tutu silly looking but intimidating.
Yeah, it was a real gutpunch of an issue, because I was like, "Oh, thank god, he got through to her" but then no! She was totally playing him! Oh Bucky. Oh, Natasha!
I agree about Captain Marvel #3. That said, the art is pretty much enough to keep me in love while it works out the serialization kinks. I really, really love Soy's work here and whoever the colorist is is a genius, imo. Love. It.
As for Winter Soldier #9. OMG. OMG. OMG. I was just...gack! I knew it was coming but I didn't know THAT was coming. Seeing Fury on the ground all bloody and Sitwell not answering and Bucky angst and the gorgeous, gorgeous way Natasha's fierceness was drawn. I just...yeah. Burning it down never looked so good. This is another artist team that just hits all the right beats for me. Gorgeous.
Oh yay, book recs! That first Sherwood Smith books shows up a lot on my Amazon recommendations but I've never checked it out. But it's on the wishlist now, after reading about the swashbuckling. I do like me some swashbuckling.

Also, I asked on Twitter and it turns out Soy did all the artwork for CM. It's extremely cohesive so it doesn't surprise me at all.
