So I read some comics this week.

I have a feeling that Ultimate Cap is gonna RUIN EVERYTHING AGAIN. It seems he hasn't learned a DAMN THING from his interactions with Peter before. And it annoys me that Miles's meeting with May was crashed by that douchecanoe.

Seriously, HOW DARE HE? WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS? Ugh. I hate that guy so much! He doesn't even deserve to share the name Steve Rogers with his 616 counterpart. Ugh.

Before I read Ultimates, you could not have convinced me that there was a version of Captain America I wouldn't like.

And yet there's one that I not only dislike, I hate so much I want him to die like 616!Cap but NOT COME BACK. His arrogance and self-centerdness and just...EVERYTHING ABOUT HIM is gross and vile and HE IS NOT A GOOD PERSON.

EXACTLY. When I read Ultimates (ugh and I wish I hadn't), I was like, but I don't understand! How is this douche Steve Rogers? HOW DID THEY TAKE THE CORE DECENCY OF THE CHARACTER AND JUST TOSS IT AWAY LIKE USED TISSUES? WHO WOULD DO THAT? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? MARK MILLAR, I AM LOOKING AT YOU.

HE NEEDS TO DIE. LET THERE BE ULTIMATE ELI BRADLEY WHO CAN COME IN AND BE CAPTAIN AMERICA AND BE A FORCE FOR DECENCY AND GOODNESS.

I have not read the spoilers, because Civil War is what finally made me STOP reading the Ultimate 'verse comics... who are we kidding, pretty much stop reading comics altogether, but I LOATHE Ultimate Captain America. Honestly, its why I waited so long to go see the movie.

Which I then proceeded to love. And am now nose deep in the Movieverse fandom like woah.

Uh.

My point. Right.

No one likes Ultimate Captain America! ;)

Well, both Ultimates and Civil War are legit awful, but Civil War was the main 616 continuity where Tony gets Steve "killed," and Ultimates is the one where Captain America is the world's biggest asshole and Tony Stark is the most decent guy on the Avengers. *hands*

If Ultimates was your introduction to the Avengers, yeah, I can see why it would make you stop. Ugh. I don't know why it was included in the ultimate Spider-man stuff I got, but I am so, so sorry I read it. Luckily, I had already seen the Captain America movie and read some of his 616 run, so it didn't damage the character for me.

Movieverse!Cap is sunshine and puppies and love! Ultimate!Cap is vile and deserves to be eaten by snakes.

Signs on the internets point to yes? But almost no one I actually know.

I also wonder if anybody likes Ultimate!Cap. Like, why? He's a terrible person! And it's the Ultimateverse! He's got some serious competition when it comes to terrible, and he's right up there on the top of the terrible pyramid!

I'm pretty sure Kate will be in from the next issue, so yay. <3 Kate Bishop.

I don't know! But it takes a lot of awfulness to be a worse person than EVERYONE ELSE in the Ultimateverse and he manages it with flying colors. Or, okay, maybe he's not worse than Hank Pym? But I feel like my expectations for him as a PERSON are SO MUCH HIGHER and he FAILS AT PERSONHOOD ON EVERY LEVEL.

I'm pretty sure Kate will be in from the next issue, so yay. <3 Kate Bishop.

And to combine that with the light of the ultimateverse (<3Miles<3) is not awesome. It's in fact very bad. *disapproves*

Especially when you consider that his involvement with Peter is what ended up getting Peter killed. Peter took a bullet for him! And he abandoned Peter! Ugh. GO AWAY ULTIMATE CAP. NOBODY LIKES YOU. DON'T GET MILES KILLED, TOO.
