when i get what i want, i never want it again

I did that thing last night again where I could feel myself falling asleep in front of the tv, so I just went to bed at 9:30, and shockingly, I slept all the way through to my alarm. I woke up once at 3:10, but closed my eyes and went right back to sleep. I love it when that happens! Though I really wish I didn't get to the point where I'm tired ( Read more... )

Well, 7 or 8 nightly is the goal but it usually winds up being more like 5 or 6 during the week and then randomly 10 when it gets to be too much.

You'd think after all these year's, I'd have gotten on top of sleeping - I mean, babies can do it! - but not so much.

I used to sleep like a champion! Sleep the hell out of 8 or 10 hours! I don't know where I went astray but I'll tell you what: if I'm somewhere where it's not okay to sleep? I'll be out like a light within 10 minutes. I don't even realize I fell asleep until I wake myself up snoring. Very attractive.

I always had bouts of insomnia, but I feel like it didn't used to be quite so often as it is now. Ugh. Sleeping is one of my favorite things! I should be able to do it easily!

I almost always use lyrics for titles. Or quotes of some kind. It just works for me. A couple of years ago on the spn anonymeme, people complained about my Big Bang story title "The Minor Fall and the Major Lift" because it caused earworms and one person said using lyrics for titles was rude because even scrolling by the story, the lyrics intruded and got stuck in her head, so people should stop being so lazy - if they could write a 20,000 word story, they could come up with a title on their own. Which is so not the point - song lyrics just speak to me in some way that I like.

See, I thought you were going to say they snarked because it was from "Hallelujah" - I've seen that complaint pop up fairly often - but people who think using lyrics or lines from poems are lazy need to stfu, because if it worked for Faulkner, it will work for me.

Also, I find those types of titles much more memorable - I almost never remember the other kind.

(Also, also, that person probably can't read my LJ then, because ALL my post titles are lyrics. ha!)

Well, yes, they did complain about it being from "Hallelujah," too. There just wasn't much about it that they liked, actually!
