holding hands while in the furnace

I can honestly say that I really enjoyed that episode of White Collar, more than I did a lot of the first part of this season, and ( spoilers )

tv: white collar

I'm skeptical of Neal's sudden excellence with guns, but whatever, show

Don't forget the skeet shooting in first season. And Neal's line to Peter after he makes the two skeet shots with perfect aim:

"I don't like guns. That doesn't mean I'm not good with them."

We've already been told more than once that there's a story behind Neal and his aversion to guns/his terrific skill with them. I'm assuming we're going to hear about it this season.

Ah, right. I admit, the details of this show don't tend to stick with me.

elizabeth is so smart. and i really like emotional!peter. and i love that mozzie came back because of el, altho i'm not remotely surprised. also i kinda liked neal with the shield, altho i always think of him as more a lover than a fighter, so i'm always kind of o.O any time he gets in an actual punch-throwing fight. and i hope we get the story of his shooting accuracy sooner rather than later, because there's only so long they can tease us with it.

and i'm really curious to see where they go now that the treasure subplot is over and neal might be free of the anklet.

Yeah, Peter and El owned this episode. So so good.

Neal with the shield made me laugh so hard in glee. I think they also had a shout out to Ed Brubaker, which was awesome.

>>Neal with the shield made me laugh so hard in glee. <<

it seemed very captain america-y, and make me imagine matt bomer in the outfit instead of chris evans, altho i don't think i'd buy neal as cap for a second. i don't know if i'd recognize an ed brubaker reference unless it was pointed out to me, but if the ptb did it, cool!

You know, I don't know. It sure looked cool though.

The show totally ships Peter/El/Neal. totally.

I don't think it's sudden excellence with guns. First season we were shown he had knowledge and was a good shot, we didn't know he was a great shot, but there was definite expertise in how he handled the guns. He has always chosen however not like or use them!

Yeah, a couple of people have mentioned that. I admit, the details of this show tend to escape me.

See, I've never bought Neal's supposed skill with guns. Sure, they've lampshaded it before, but that's a learned skill that needs to be practiced, and we've never seen that with Neal. The odds of him picking up a gun once every so many years and being a sniper-worthy shot are... slim. It seemed particularly unlikely when viewed back-to-back with Justified, wherein Raylan, who does use his gun constantly and who has been shown to keep and maintain a high skill level, was having trouble working his way back to his old talent after an injury. And yet gun-allergic Neal can just grab one and wing it? Yeah, right.

It's just another instance of Neal being the best at anything he tries his hand at, but I liked it better when he couldn't fight and couldn't use a gun. It fit better to me.
