the only sure thing I've ever learned is that you have to find a way to write that works for you and use it until it stops working.

So true! Whichever way you get the words out, go with it. I hit a weird phase over the summer where I could only write long-hand in spiral notebooks (and then typing them up), after years of typing directly. And then...the phase was over and I'm back to typing stories normally, and when that fries out again I'll try, idk, writing upside down on an ipad sitting in the bathtub.

My story notes are usually extensive but very random, and I don't stick to them, although I do make lists of "this happens, then this, and they land here." I pretty much babble to myself. Actual note from a story I posted in the past year: Awkwardness as they try to figure out how to pass the time.

Yeah, I've had stories that would only be written long-hand or whatever. I find that doing that sometimes does help shake things up.

Well, you know how attached I am to my shower crayons! They are the best!

My notes are either a chat log pasted at the bottom to remind me of what was hashed out with someone, or seriously, "Puppies, y/y? and then makeouts!" with maybe a line or two of dialogue I would like to remember to use, and sometimes, if I don't already have one picked out, a short list of possible titles.

Really enjoying the songs (and totally associating the last two with Captain America). Thanks!

I'm glad to hear it! And those two songs are so very Steve and Steve/Bucky to me. *sigh* Oh, Steve...
