The plot has... lost the plot. Ergh. I'm going to keep trying to not care, and I'll just avoid posting when I'm mostly dissatisfied, I guess? Though, hearing your thoughts makes me less cranky! Because I don't feel alone then in my WTF. And yeah, the "Sam must atone for Samgelus's sins"... um, I already watched A:tS. It was a fine show, but I don't really want to watch this show try to rehash it...

Yeah, I feel like, had they not had so many episodes I just flat-out disliked this season, they could have won me back, but Weekend at Bobby's and Appointment in Samarra are not enough after all this crappy writing.

Though, hearing your thoughts makes me less cranky! Because I don't feel alone then in my WTF.

Heh. I'm glad I'm not alone. I feel like even the people I think should be hating it are liking it, except for me.

Seriously. I mean, I get that *Sam* would feel responsible? But I don't want the show putting that on him, and it looks like it might be heading that way again. I mean, he died to save the world. I think being a dick to witnesses and banging a few hookers is really kind of ... beside the point. Is it skeevy and morally questionable? Yeah, but he didn't burn the city down. He saved it from that. Ugh.

I found the relentless dropping of pop culture references really jarring in tonight's SPN, really. WoW? Cloverfield? Hogwarts? Comic Con? It felt like a Cassie Clare fanfic or something. Yes, Sera Gamble, we get it. You are the fangirliest fangirl ever to fan.

Sigh.

The Hogwarts and Middle-earth references made sense to me - and also, seriously boys, how did gold+virgins not ping dragons in your heads? I get that the show has forever been clumsy with exposition, but ugh.

It does feel like that. I mean, Dean knows Comic Con but not World of Warcraft? Why no Monty Python jokes when pulling out the sword? The references seemed off in some ways. Sigh.

A wise decision.

I still hate the entire storyline, and the attached "Sam must atone for Samgelus's sins"

I'm really hoping this doesn't turn into a trip down memory lane of how bad soulless!Sam was for the lost year. I think we already know what he was capable of with his actions from the first half of the season.

I let out my impatient sigh when I saw next week's previews. It's like one step forward and two steps back right now, as if there isn't a whole bunch of things the show could be exploring. I might be living in my fortress of denial, but I still have hope TPTB can right the ship from where it appears to be going.

I wish I had hope but they've burned any faith I had in them. I guess I'm glad some people are enjoying this season, but it's just not what I wanted.
