so much work! bah! also, I have a meeting at 4 pm today. Who schedules a meeting at 4 pm on a Friday? Who even does that? pfui!

So in between writing up the minutes and putting together the agenda for our next board meeting, I am going to talk to you about Blue Beetle, because few things have made me as purely happy as reading this series has. I ( Read more... )

::bounces:: So awesome! ::looks at icon:: OMG, that moment, that moment nearly killed me. He's smart! He uses his brains! He's sensible! How I have longed for a hero that didn't make me want to scream at them!

Ficwise, you might want to check out aravistarkheena. Some of her stuff is too canon-bound for you, but I think some of the Jaime/Tim would be relevant to your interests.

Darn it, I know there's more, but my mind is blank. I've written four stories with Jaime. I really need to write more!

I'll try and remember who else has written good Jaime fic.

That was an amazing moment. I possibly squeaked out loud when it happened.

Yes. Exactly.

I'll check out the fic links. Thanks!

I have a friend who LOVES Blue Beetle as well, and you make me want to check the series out too! The John Rogers connection helps.

It's an ongoing series, but I think everyone should read Chew. I love it so much. It makes me laugh out loud, and it's bursting with creativity. Layman and Guillory keep finding new ways to make me laugh or tell a story cleverly and effectively.

I stopped reading Fables monthly and am now following it only in trade. It just became so hard to follow this year after the giant crossover. I understand people's issues with the Y ending, but I still love the series.

You totally should! It's really fantastic.

Maybe I will check it out.

i was reading it in trade but just lost interest - the last one I bought was the one with Ambrose's backstory, and I just never read it, whereas at first, I used to read them immediately as they arrived. I think that long stretch without Bigby hurt, and also how they sidelined Snow so much.

At this late date, it's still impossible for me to think on the "I Am A Dentist!" scene and not crack up.

This sounds like a comic I could actually read! And hearing you gush about it -- I am definitely interested. A hero with sense! And heart! AND SCIENCE. :D :D

Could you hook me up with some source, please?

I think mebbe I am needing to be reading this now, as I was crazy in love with Ted Kord when I was in high school, and have always had much love for Blue Beetle as a character, and Reyes sounds like exactly the sort of kid Ted would have wanted to carry on the name.

Also... dood. John Rogers.

Jaime's mantra is What Would Ted Kord Do? *g*

Also, check out this post if you are interested in reading it right now.
