While I'm not yet ready to let go of summer and sandals (could there be time for one last summer pedicure? I think so, Brain!), earlier this week I ordered a couple pairs of boots to try on and see what will fit/work for this winter, as all of my boots turned up with holes or irreparable wear (or, really, wear that is not worth shelling out to fix

They were around, just twice that price. That pair of boots have been haunting me since I first saw them many moons ago in a shop window. I thought thay'd stopped selling them, but it appears not.

I now know what I'm getting myself if I pass my PhD.
