also i'm kind of wondering if kate is really dead or not. i honestly wouldn't be surprised if she managed to survive, altho i'm not sure what purpose it would serve except to make people go "how the hell did she get out of the plane?"

My guess is no, she isn't dead, and that she was a set-up by Fowler (or whoever is pulling Fowler's strings) to get Neal onto the plane, at which point she'd have to get off "for a second" and then they'd blow Neal up.

I eagerly await S2. But in the meantime...

SOMEONE BETTER WRITE SOME H/C FICTION STAT - ALSO OT3 WOULD BE GOOD WHEN PETER HAS TO TAKE AN INCONSOLABLE NEAL BACK TO EL AND THEN THE BURKES CAN FIX THAT PESKY INCONSOLABLE THING.

Hmm, I didn't think of that. I figured that Fowler & his big boss used them both and wanted them dead now that they had the music box. For what it's worth, I think she's really dead, and Neal would've been too if Peter hadn't come for him.

I think Neal would be dead if Peter hadn't come for him, absolutely, but I just don't buy that she's dead -- no body, no death, as fandom says about every single television show ever. ;) Plus, since we *will* want to find out if she was on his side or not, we can't do that unless she's ultimately still alive. If they wanted her dead, dead, they'd not have had a long shot where we barely get to see her. Also, if it weren't a play to get him *on* the plane, then the minute she saw him on the tarmac, she would have rushed off the plane to hug/kiss/whatever him.

But anything could be true -- we shall see!

Dude seriously -- I mean, what is going to happen in the next hour of this story? Neal is already crying in Peter's arms, no doubt the airport firetrucks are on their way, they're all going to want statements and stuff, and Neal is in no state to say *anything*. Peter doesn't have his credentials with him, but he can probably use Neal's badge to show that they're with the Bureau and get them out of there - home to Elizabeth, because Peter is not letting Neal out of his sight, and he's not leaving him *alone*, that's for damned sure. Peter's brain is going to be whirring a mile a minute, but Neal is about to shut down. Both of them are going to need Elizabeth pronto.

(And Satchmo, who will put his head in Neal's lap.)

and i was kind of picturing them making tracks before the firetrucks et al show up.... but i can see peter essentially bullshitting the authorities into letting them go. and of course they go straight back to el. she loves neal too.

(aw, satch. i love that image. what neal really needs is to be with the one person he trusts, that person's wife, and their dog. seriously.)

I can't see Peter just taking off, as much as he'd be desperate to. he's a Fed on suspension; he doesn't want to duck out on "I saw a plane explode" questions--he needs to answer them. :D

Yeah, they could go back to June's, but no way is Peter leaving Neal alone, so their house is the only place that makes sense.
