A Festivus for the rest of us!

I will skip the traditional airing of grievances, because the feats of strength portion of this post is going to be very long and also I don't think I can stay awake long enough to do both. And anyway, this is me. When have I ever needed a special day to air my grievances?

Onward!

It was a lot of fun, but man, my back hurt at the end of the night.

And the cheesecakes will hopefully taste as good as the last two I made, which were awesome.

Hee! The funny thing was, while I was cooking, I was totally not hungry, even though I didn't eat anything until late afternoon, and only an orange. For some reason, I find baking as filling as eating.

I've been baking cookies and savory munchies like crazy over the last few days, but not for nearly as happy an occasion. Baking is awesome.

Baking IS awesome! It's like magic - a bunch of disparate ingredients go in, and tasty goodness comes out!

Tasty goodness, memorable conversation, and a way to temporarily tame teenagers.

*grabby hands*

I think the star one cracked because the paper might not have been strong enough. While baking, the edges might have pushed out and come back in again as it started to cool. It still looks very decadent. And the cheesecakes! Mmmmm.

It reminds me of this one week a couple of months ago where I made a lot of cakes. As tired as you are at the end of it, it feels damn good, eh? Good job, you, they all look really good.

Yeah, I think when I lifted it from the oven to the rack, there was some buckling. It still tasted great, though. *g*

And yeah, it was a great way to spend a day. I had a lot of fun, even though I was exhausted afterward.
