I felt unwell when I woke up yesterday morning, and as I was getting ready for work, I was seized quite forcibly with the notion that going to work - that getting on the subway - would be a terrible idea. After no little debate with myself about whether I was still too new an employee (only three months and change) to call in sick, versus whether I ( Read more... )

tv: criminal minds, we make our own fun, books, writing: on titles & summaries, you should totally write that, i am okay with that!

I... you know, I don't even really care about the porn? I'm happy with the touching and the bantering. but it was frustrating as a writer that they just wouldn't seem to get on with it when that was my intention for the story.

i'm glad you're feeling better! i've never actually puked on the subway but god knows i've felt like i was going to....

i feel that way about jj too - i really like her but her character doesn't always feel as, i dunno, filled out as everyone else. this could possibly be solved by more of her.... also my love for garcia cannot be textually rendered. she gets to be (kind of in passing) an indie comic book nerd which made me flail so hard with glee i almost fell off my couch. and she and morgan are really, really cute.

Yeah, I've come close a few times, but managed to get off the train before it happened.

*nod nod*

I think they try? But she just doesn't get as much meaty stuff as everyone else.

Every time they reveal something about her, I am like, dear god, she really IS us. When she threatened to photoshop Morgan into chaps, I was surprised she didn't say, "your pants are pastede on yay!"

i am willing to bet money that there's a scene lying on an editing room floor (or in a preliminary draft of the script) in which she DOES say that. or at least she was thinking it. :D

we could do a lot worse when it comes to tv avatars, y'know?

We really could. I mean, she's got a good job she's awesome at, she's got a cute boyfriend, a life outside her job, and her co-workers really appreciate her.

The Yiddish Policemen's Other Ball Union

This is exactly how I couldn't help but think of it, too. It's an awesome book.

I am enjoying it so far, though I am only on page 50.

I wonder if we're dating ourselves with that reference. *g*

Thanks! Piquing readers' curiosity is what I'm going for, but sometimes you can't beat a good "In which..." summary.

It really is! It has confounded my expectations by rarely making the cases All About the characters (I mean, occasionally it does, but not so often that I am left rolling my eyes), the women are fully formed in their own right and extremely capable, and I *heart* the whole team!

I need to get a Prentiss icon.
