I posted about this earlier under flock (mostly because I am still wary of posting publicly about work in any kind of detail), and I am kind of already worn out with thinking and talking about it, but I got laid off today. My last day at work is 12/15. (thanks again to everyone who's already been so supportive. I really, truly appreciate it, more ( Read more... )

Heh, you're going in? The day I got laid off I left at noon and didn't bother to go back in ever again. Screw them!

Well, I did go in, because I got the impression that was what they wanted, but once I was there, they were like, you can go! Don't come back! so... yeah.

I'm so sorry to hear about your job. It's a sucky time. I know loads of people who don't have landlines at all any more so I don't see that it would be a problem.

That sucks about your job! I remember being equally stunned when I got laid off. I think I burst into hysterical laughter.

I only have a cell phone now and it's fine--I think it should be good for job hunting. It has voicemail and you've got it with you all the time. I'm sure a lot of people do it.

I still haven't cried, which I think is really weird, but I have a feeling when it really hits, it will be a doozy. And yeah, I think the cell phone thing is better, because I do always have it on me.

I missed your earlier post but man, I am so sorry. *hugs*

About phones: I haven't had any kind of landline for about eight or nine years now, and I've never once missed it. I've been job hunting for several months now, and it's never been a factor.
