So, my friend Colleen hijacked me last weekend and marathoned the first season of Burn Notice and OMG AWESOME. Why did no one TELL ME about how ridiculously cool this show is?

And really, all anyone had to do was tell me A)Bruce MF Campbell, B) Michael is played by the guy who was Jarod's little sociopath brother Kyle on the Pretender, and C) Sharon Gless plays Debbie Novotny again, only with less pink hair and more crack.

But yes, tonight's ep was awesome. I adore Sam more than words can express, along with Sam and Fi's gossipy advice sessions. And Sam rooming with Michael can only be COMEDY GOLD the likes of which have not been seen on TV since season 2 of House.

I've been talking about it since it aired, man. I keep telling people and they keep ignoring me!

It's a fun show. Totally makes the TV worth turning on in the summer.

That's what I'm talking about. And then it's all 'Oh, why did nobody tell me?' and you feel like you were screaming into a black hole.

Can I tell you that my only issue with last night was that they had Tricia's name in the credits and then we didn't get to physically *see* her? That was hard on me. Still, that entire episode was just classic BN. Oded Fehr never ceases to make me go O_O, but Robin Givens, man she looked a little hard around the edges. And inevitably when BN ends I find myself thinking, "Wait, already?" I suspect it's like good chocolate that way.

OH! And when Michael was being all stealty in black I could only think of my Iron Man/Burn Notice X-over when he was teasing Tony about dressing up in tight black clothes and rappelling over the side of the building. He looked even hotter than I thought he would.

Exactly.

Me, too. I was hoping for a little snarky confab with Michael at the end. Not that the champagne and balloons wasn't funny. But it wasn't Tricia.

Yes, to all of this. Sigh. It makes me happy, this show does.

I like Burn Notice, although for me it doesn't marathon well. I'm still only part-way through S1 because, as far as I'm concerned, in the Northern hemisphere Burn Notice is a winter show. We have quite enough shimmering heat in the NYC area as it is, and while scantily clad females seldom go amiss as eye candy chez executrix, it's harder to enjoy watching them when it's too hot to wear clothes on either side of the screen.

See, I like it in the summer because I don't watch anything else but sports and DVDs of other shows. So it is like a special bonus show for me.

I'm not sure that's the photograph I'd have selected to illustrated the gorgeousness of Jared's hair, but...okay!

I'd have put Gina Torres on that list, too.

Hee! No. But then, I tend to not think Jared's hair is gorgeous, so I am probably not the person to ask. He's had a lot of bad hair the past few years.

I'd have put Gina Torres on that list, too.

Yes. I agree.

See the problem with having an ubercompetent protagonist is that your antagonists have to be worthy adversaries, and therefore, they have to look smarter/know more etc. than your hero for a good portion of the story, which makes your hero look not so smart sometimes, or your antagonist too unbelievably skilled. It's a fine line to walk, and it is often walked badly by tv shows.

I think they have been doing a good job with this so far. I hope it stays that way, or the viewer/Michael gets more info about the reason for the burn notice soon.

*nod nod*

They can't string it out too much longer without getting annoying.
