Yeah, I might still start writing the scene, and then I'll go, wait, does this really need to be here? I really try now to have the sex scenes serve multiple purposes. I mean, I always did? But sometimes I got caught up in the "yeah, there should be lots of sex!" but if it doesn't show something about the characters and move the story forward, it's not necessary. Even PWPs should do some of that.
I think, also, as you say, I've written and read so many over the years, that sometimes they all run together.
